Final Assessment of JJ Construction completion of deck @ 27 Misty Pine Road, Fairport, NY 14450: JJ Construction - 2075 Dewey Avenue Rochester, NY 14615 The deck is indeed 20x14 as specified in the contract. The time from the signing of the contract on May 24th to completion on August 22nd was a total of 80 days. The actual project duration was 61 days. Numerous failures of proper planning resulted in delays and adversely affected final quality of the overall project. Heavy usage of shims and strange reinforcements under deck make the quality from underneath look sub-standard. The staircase is narrow due to the lack of planning and realization that there was a window that would interfere with a normal width railing / staircase. The additional 6x6 post for support, necessary after the wrong size deck started being built looks out of place and wrong. The staircase with nail holes, hammer dents, visibility of risers and treads above skirting, narrow space between the hand railings all contribute to poor quality. Improper blocking of deck structure (14’ span without mid-band blocking) as well as ½” gaps between the composite material in front corners of the deck where they should be butted against each other. We would NEVER recommend this construction company to anyone that is interested in a timely quality job. Photos of job-->imgur.com/a/lk1Pl
