Town and Country Movers stored and moved my home goods for me this past summer. I was very pleased with the people and job they did until on delivery of my property a very valuable oriental rug was missing. For my part, I had not checked the manifest carefully. The men were tired and ready to leave and it would have taken me some time to check it carefully as it was hard to read with lots of codes I didn't understand. The rug was not on the manifest and T and C refused to believe that I had the rug even after they were sent pictures and an invoice. From the beginning the lady handling my claim was very defensive when I suggested that it had been lost or taken. She was very slow in responding to me and seemed to undermine my attempts to follow her instructions to get her the information she requested. As I continue to unpack I have found a broken chair leg and broken glass on two pictures.
