Had carpet removed among a few other things done and had vinyl tile installed. The project was roughly 4300 dollars and whoever he used to lay tile could have used a little more attention to detail. After 2 or 3 months of letting the tiles set at a steady temp per contractors instruction we noticed a few places where the tile hadn't adhered. When we contacted Mr. Benthall about following up on the problem as he said he would do if any should arise he immediately went on the defensive claiming we hadn't kept the temp steady without even coming and looking at the problems with the work that we found. I took further offense when I listed the problems such as chipped tiles and poorly cut tiles and said the issue wasn't temp related it was shoddy workmanship. We ended up gluing down the problematic tiles with gorilla glue which he admitted that is what he would have done. We have been in the moving process for months but since our last exchange with Mr. Benthall we have discovered more chipped tiles, a tile with a hole in it and a stretch of tile running the length of the patio door threshold falling a 1/4 inch short and jaggedly cut. He fired 2 guys during the job and I found a coffee spill along my wall and in the living room carpet. They left dust and debris all over the kitchen and our new appliances as well. For the price I paid (and that didn't include the material/I had to purchase that independently of the work) there could have been a little more attention to detail and a little more accountability on the part of the contractor. We just basically said screw it we will live with it. Wouldnt recommend and won't being shelling out hard earned money with this company again.
