I do a lot of rehab work and home selling in the Denver area. I found Fernando Jaques to be one of the most dishonest contractors I have dealt with in the last 20 years. I was buying carpet from Prosource in DENVER. They had referred me to Fernando for installation. He told me he did a high volume with them and could get me a better price. I CHOSE CARPET AND PAID FOR IT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. My clients decided to remove some tile so we only installed upstairs. FERNANDO CAME TO THE HOUSE AND TOOK THE CARPET I HAD PAID FOR AND WOULDN'T TELL ME WHERE IT WAS. He said he had experienced tile setters but when they started the job I knew that was a lie. I hired someone else to do the tile. I needed to match the carpet he had sold me previously. I called Prosource and they said he had not purchased the carpet there. He came back to finish the job, left a mess, broke tile on my fireplace, and took the extra carpet I had paid for. When I called to tell him The problems he was belligerant and said don't pay me and I will put a lien on the house.HE said we didn't break the tile. ANOTHER broker and I had inspected the family room right before the install and none was broken. INSTALLERS didn't vacuum or put vent covers back in and they took the carpet I had paid for. It was one lie after another.
