- Empty promises, staff turnover, subs say they aren't paid - - Anonymous user - 7/9/2015 - comment
In addition to my home, several other homeowners have complained about no follow up, lot's of excuses for staff turnover, sub contractor discontent, constant reminders to address problems with major issues still not resolved. All these issues reflect problems within the last year 2014-15. I would not recommend.
      - 8/6/2015 - Do you live out in holly glen? I can guess at which house it is if so. I do landscaping! Graded a really rough lot for him and that sob won't answer or pay and has lied to be ever since I did the job
     Anonymous user - 9/24/2015 - I had 3 of his sub-contractors come to my house saying Carolinian Homes has not paid them. Obviously, they weren't going to come back to honor any punch list items. Our house is in Chapel Hill. I know of at least one homeowner in Meadowmont who is considering legal action.I also heard that he was taken off the Murray Hill project in Meadowmont.

He built a custom home for us back in 2004-2005. The home is well built at the time. Carolinian Homes and Alan Powell DO NOT follow up on warranty items. We chased him for years until every last item was completed. He bobs and weaves and changes construction supervisors constantly so ensure lack of continuity or follow through. If you search hard you'll find other unhappy things about Alan Powell. We would not recommend Alan Powell or Carolinian Homes.

Like others have noted (see link below), I would like to communicate the extraordinarily poor service and follow through with agreed upon repairs. Even the most basic of items such as completing the trim in areas of the kitchen have been completely ignored despite our ongoing requests for help. If you've experienced similar problems, know that you're not alone! We're not the only ones who have noted Carolinian's apparent issues. Just google Carolinian Homes and Alan Powell for telling reviews that support our experiences.
