Quoted a price for pool liner and paid the first 1/2 of the quoted price. Spent an hour discussing what specifics I wanted in the liner. When he came out, he installed in incorrect liner, which was not anything like the one that we agreed on. I was at work, so by the time I got home from work the pool was about 1/4 full. I immediately called and told him that this was not the correct liner and after a very uncomfortable conversation with him., he did come and took that liner out and installed the correct liner. He also left all the old liner in my yard for me to clean up and refused to clean up. I had to put the pool ladder back in myself and spent a lot of time cleaning up the mess. Lessons learned from this experience: 1. Never pay a pool person a dime without a contract of what the cost of the services will be (my ignorance), and(2) never hire anyone that has not been referred to you.(3) Read any reviews on the company,(4)and check with the BBB to see if they have any complaints. (5)I would highly recommend you seek other contracters' before making a decision on hiring for any pool work. (6) I would also check on the cost of the liner itself as I have since found other companies that would have done it cheaper and cleaned up the mess. In fact, every one that I have talked to, were appalled that he left the mess for the home-owner to clean up. (7) Never complete payment until you are completely satisfied with the work, and finally when someone that you have contracted to work for you in any capacity has a hateful attitude and tries to put the blame for mistakes that the company clearly made, place hold on any payment or future payments.

I had Calvin install a pool liner in my pool. He gave me a quote of $900. Unfortunately I didn't specifically ask what was included in the estimate. Calvin and his associate removed the old pool liner then informed me that it was my responsibility to bring it to the dump. They did a pretty good job of installing the new liner. He did inform me that there would be some wrinkles in the pool liner. There were more than I expected though. He replaced some gaskets, the main drain cover and the skimmer cover. The light didn't work so I drove to the local pools shop and purchased a gasket and light. He and his associate replaced the bulb. During these activities I mentioned to him on 2 occasions that the price was $900. When he finished he told me that the price was now $1050. When I questioned the increase in price he stormed off to his truck to get receipts for the covers. He then returned and started yelling at me. He then started cursing at me. He did so in front of my wife. I told him to calm down but he continued his tirade. Very unprofessional. I told him that he should quote a price and then indicate that extra items would incur additional costs. He continued to yell. I gave him a check and told him to leave my property. All I can say that its hard to believe that business owners treat their customers in this manner.
