- Polybutylene Pipe Repair - - Anonymous user - 8/26/2022 - comment
Malcom Vernon with Carolina Beach plumbing claims he remediated the polybutylene pipes at my house, and since his work, the house has flooded twice. After the 2nd flood, I hired a different plumber to remove drywall and check all of the pipes. Polybutylene pipe was not only left in the slab, it was also found at EVERY plumbing connection throughout the house. DO NOT trust his work. I wish I could add photos of his work. About 2 inches of polybutylene pipes were left at every connection… this is a devastating error that’s caused $80,000+ in damages from flooding. I wish I could say it looked accidental… but what plumber connects pex piping directly to old polybutylene!? WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY.
