Dusty was awarded the contract to install a lift station. The pressurized outflow pipe was laid about 1-2 inches below the surface of the dirt and right at the edge of the parking lot. The dirt alongside the parking lot is about 6" higher than the asphalt and thus the pipe is right at the edge of the lot and about 5-6 inches above the surface. A dangerous condition. At the time of install the corner of the parking lot had a bunch of build up leaves and dirt. When I asked Dusty to come bury the pipe he said it was my fault I did not clean out the parking lot. Be that as it may, he still only had THE PIPE ONE TO TWO INCHES BELOW THE EXISTING DIRT SURFACE. I just need it to be done so I agreed to pay him to come do it. A month later and many attempts he still has not returned my call to do the job. I reported the condition to the city and also had several other plumbers come to estimate. I advised Dusty and he became very defensive and continues to blame me. The plumbers who came to give me a quote advised a high pressure pipe should be 12" below surface. One advised plumbers who do this type of work are referred to as Jack-legs. I bent over backwards to give Dusty the chance to fix the issue and also agreed to pay him for his mistake. One other thing, after the job was done he tried to get the building contractor to order the inspection. That was not the contractor's job because I hired Dusty and not the contractor. Dusty made me do all the legwork to get the work inspected. I had no choice because I would no get a c/o without the inspection. Sound like great customer service to you?
