Horrible unfinished work. Unprofessional, milked for $14,000 -
- Anonymous user - 2/16/2018 -
commentHe was a long-time family aquaintance and someone we thought we could trust after many failed attempt at finding someone who would do the job right. We had water issues in our basement and had resorted to digging and placing a french drain ourselves and sealing the outside cinder-block wall with cement to fill holes left and rubberized coating for waterproofing. We hired James to gut and redo the downstairs after this process. Drywall, painting, trim-work, carpeting the stairs. He was unreliable to even show up and placed the blame on doors being locked even though I left the downstairs door unlocked every morning when I left. He gave one excuse after another of why he couldn't be there and at one point, we even let him borrow a vehicle so he could finish the job. He milked my family and the job for $14,000. Not only are there problems with the drywall he did manage to complete, gaps where there should be none, but he did not even complete the painting or other jobs he was contracted to do. He left us with a mess that we had to pay to clean up. The worst of it is that the water leakage problem that we ourselves had solved is back thanks to him knocking out part of the filler concrete and leaving the same hole as before. Do not use his services or you will be out of far more money than the job is worth, but you will also be left with shoddy and or unfinished work.

commentJames did a very complicated whole house interior painting job for us. It involved smoothing out texturing, repairing drywall, painting and more. He has an excellent eye for detail and did a fantastic job. He kept our home clean and made sure every room was finished to our satisfaction. We also felt that he did the job for a reasonable price. His positive attitude never wavered even when challenging situations beyond our control were presented to him. He went above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Good Time Painting!
