My realtor referred him based on his past experience. John gave the appointment at 3 and when we reached the home to inspect, he was there and started inspecting 30 minutes by them. Finished inspection in another 30 minutes, gave a running summary and left. No phone call, not text or no reports. Stay away from this guy. Unreliable and unfit to do the job.

Ok, this guy is still doing the same thing...was supposed to have our report ready last week, we have called and emailed him several times and no response...we are calling the debit card company and reporting him...

This guy is a complete fraud! My story is very similar to the other disappointed customers. John actually showed up and spent a few hours reviewing items in our home. After the inspection was done he promised to send the report two days later. Therefore I paid him for his services with the hope that this guy would be honest and honor his word. I was absolutely wrong! He has not answered any of my calls/emails and almost 30 days later we're still without the report we paid for. This guy should be in jail. We had to hire another inspection company to come to our home and do the job correctly. Do yourself a favor and run far away from this guy!

John Owen has never offered to do construction for me or clients of mine. He has been a highly proficient home inspector for clients of mine for about 7 years. His reports are long, detailed, with arrows pointing to items, and he always offers to my client assistance and consulting to help them with items he discovers, never entering into a contract to do the work. He's always suggested what needs to be done and does not do the work. I have never had a client complain but speak so highly of him with advice after the inspection and offers to speak to the home owners. He's awesome and charges much less than others. I highly recommend him.

Do a background check on this guy before you hire him to do anything for you. He has been scamming people and businesses all over the Atlanta area for 25 years. Typical scam is to require a "deposit" for work, then never show up, and avoid calls. Always an excuse and a straight-up liar. Belongs in jail...and has been there before!

PAID TO HAVE WORK DONE, BUT JOHN OWEN NEVER COMPLETED IT. HAD TO PAY ANOTHER CONTRACTOR TO FIX ALL THE THINGS HE DUD NOT FINISH, OR DID BADLY. APPARENTLY, LOOKING AT THE COMMENTS, HE IS STILL TAKING MONEY AND NOT BOTHERING TO DO THE WORK. RUN A BACKGROUND CHECK FOLKS, YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED WHAT YOU FIND. WOULDNT BE SURPRISEDIF HE HAS CHANGED THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS BY NOW, BUT AS SOON AS YOU HEAR "JOHN OWEN", YOU BETTER RUN.

John Owen did an awesome job for me inspecting a home that my best friend was looking to buy. Not only is he a very interesting guy with common threads to me and my family via GA Tech ... and even in the midst of a family emergency occuring right at the end of my (my friends place who was out of the country at the time)due diligence period. he came thru IN TIME regardless with what we consider to be an EXCELLENT inspection.John shined a light on items from sublime to almost ridiculous in his detail and certainly items I would never have thought to look and my father who was a GA Tech/Builder for a good number of years in Buckhead, a suburb of Atlanta to which I call home. He came thru. I met him and actually with some cash in hand was told "not to worry he'd bill me " and did an exemplary job when I received his report. I have yet to recieve the Balance Due even after leaving him a couple of voice mails. And not to go into detail or bore anyone ... the listing agents on this particular property were so busy and again , my opinion to get their commission and move on reguardless of .... well anything other than themselves. I own a small s-corp and sell to Whole Foods exclusivly everyday (but NOT on commission) had forgotten how rude, greedy and mean spirted people can be. My friend who is the actual buyer and I are native Buckhead people and are certainly guilty of and being as arrogant as these agents in our youth but have not been exposed to the new generation and the greed. Although not rich ... our families certainly were , so yes we know the PDC, Cherokee and Capitol city Clubs ( Life members) So , in closing .... John Owen gets five stars in our book and would certaily recomend him. I can be reached if you need verification of this blog. HE INSPECTED MY HOME TOLD ME WHAT WAS WRONG THEN I HIRED HIM TO FIX IT HE CHARGED ME 6000.00 AND DID NOT DO THE WORK, HE STARTED PAYING ME 100.00 EVERY TIME I CALLED HIM BUT HAS NOT PAID ME IN AT LEAST 6 MONTHS DOES NOT ANSWER HIS PHONE CALLS AND STILL OWES ME 2000.00 UNETHICAL PRACTIC, WOULD LIKE MY MONEY, I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND HE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME

I had my home inspected by John Owen last April. Everything you can imagine was wrong and not noted. I trusted his inspection and bought my house. The shower pipes were not capped and the first shower resulted in a flood. The fireplace did not work, my hot water heater was set to maximum pressure which resulted in serious problems. The back yard has serious erosion which has cost a lot of money. When I ask for my money back so I could get an inspection before the one year he refused. Then I was told if I write any complaint I would be sued. The truth is the truth and I was not made whole by John Owens. I hope John reads this and feels bad. Do not recite bible verses if you don't live by them.
