we hired Terry to install 1100 sq ft of hardwood floor and to install some lower cabinets including an island. Terry quoted me on 900 sq ft even though I told him our house was 1100 sg ft. I was quoted a week to a week and a half timeframe and less money than the Lowes installers so I thought I'd go with the local guy. I ended up returned 7 unopened boxes of flooring because he didn't feel the wood was warped enough to not use (here I am 8 months later with creaky and cracking floor because he install that warped boards). The Cabinets were done well and the countertops were done well. In the end a week to a week and a half turned into 4 1/2 weeks and end quote of a thousand dollars more than the original quote. in hindsight I would have hired Lowes to install floor and had Terry do the cabinets/countertops only.
