commentDoor Installation through Home Depot.
Started in July by picking door and side panels; Door was installed November 28, $5,000. Mailing address was wrong for payments - Did not receive notice of late payments, until I went to store to check.
Home Depot Salem - Order was cancelled twice, and they never contacted us. We found out by going to the store and waiting for hours. Door and window panels were supposed to be black with black grills - Doors and panels were black; Grills are all white. Door has multiple scratches, white spots, etc. Installed door that we did not want or order.
Malkin & Sons - Door was installed so close to jam that installer cracked the door jam the first time he opened it (jam was made out of plastic, and installer chiseled out for deadbolt). He left like door jamb like this. He also used 16 penny nails with nail gun to install inside trim - Cracked trim on each side of door, both ends. "Home Depot does not supply trim nails., and they should never had sold you that door. It is not setup for a deadbolt."
Repeated attempts to have someone see the door have failed. My advise is to get an independent to install your door, but stay away from Home Depot and Malkin & Sons.
