Predatory rental management company taking advantage of seasonal/occupational oil and gas/energy employees assigned to Carlsbad, NM. Zeke Hernandez Enterprises offers one room studios at 3313 National Parks Highway in Carlsbad for $600 monthly and require a $600 deposit for a total move in cost of $1,200. $600 of which is fully refundable upon move out as stated by Sonia Hernandez, on site Manager, at time of renting unit. BEWARE. Don’t do it! The short of it is this is a run down place that won’t repair plumbing issues, address safety issues and will refuse to return your deposit even if a model tenant who leaves a unit spotless upon move out. The Detailed Report. This place has plumbing issues (unresolved), no hot water for showering after work, and flooding from a hot water heater. You can report these issues but they won’t get then fixed. Instead, you will get the run around, promises to return calls and then experience phone interference when seeking a resolution. Upon move out, Surprise! This property mngmt. company will NOT refund deposit. Instead, on site mngr. will tell you they’ll get back to you re your deposit, waste your time, and weeks later they’ll begin positioning. You will be disrespected, refused any reasonable resolution or to speak with the owner, and then disconnected multiple times by phone. You will receive fraudulent excuses (opposite of NM statutes) denying return of your deposit. The reasoning they use is subject to change depends on the day. I’m unable to give you the name of who I spoke with as they refused to identify, hanging up yet again.
